Club Zoo: This weekly afterschool program calls on its elementary-age participants to construct their understanding of science, nature and the world at large. Each monthly class follows a theme. Activities may include animal track identification, squid dissection and visits from the Zoo’s education animal collection. In just three years, Club Zoo has grown from one club to 10 across seven schools. Zoo staff use evaluation techniques to study the effectiveness of each lesson and improve the curriculum for future classes. 9
