RETIREMENTS
Donna Nikaforuk
Donna Nikiforuk has joined the Faculty of Education as the new Coordinator of Field Education .
Donna attended the University of Regina ( U of R ) for both her Education and Master ’ s degrees . Donna has 30 years of K – 12 experiences in Regina Public Schools and has taught as a sessional instructor at the U of R for the last 10 years . Donna is a certified Response Ability Pathways trainer and will bring this additional skillset to her new role .
Donna loves spending time with her family — her husband , dog , two grown children , and their families . She has a love for crafts , music and enjoying her beautiful yard her husband custom built for them . She is very excited to join the Professional Development and Field Placement team in collaborating on the new Faculty Advisory Model .
Brandi Srochenski
Brandi Srochenski is the new Academic Program Advisor for undergraduate programs , and recently joined the Faculty of Education ’ s advising team in June of 2021 . Brandi , a graduate of the University of Regina , has worked on campus since 2012 primarily in the area of student services , and brings with her nearly six years of advising experience as a former Academic Advisor for both the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Social Work .
Brandi is deeply passionate about working with adult learners , and she takes great pride in establishing rapport , building meaningful connections and playing an active role in the academic journey and success of the students that she works with .
Laurie Carlson Berg
After 22 years of service with the Faculty of Education , Dr . Laurie Carlson Berg retired in July 2021 . Laurie served as a faculty member in le Bac programme and served as the Director of le Bac program from July 2016 until June 2019 . Laurie has taken on a new leadership role with the Université de l ’ Ontario français in Toronto .

Darci-Lynn McDonald

After 34 years of service with the University of Regina , 14 of which were with the Faculty of Education , Darci-Lynn Mcdonald retired in June 2021 . Darci has built her career “ As One Who Serves ” at the University of Regina . She started working at the U of R with the Business Office ( now Financial Services ), then devoted the next 16 years to the Department of Co-operative Education ( now the Career Centre ) before she joined the Faculty of Education as an Academic Program Advisor in July 2007 .
Darci says , “ I enjoyed my time working at the University and saved the best for last , the Faculty of Education . The most rewarding part of my 34 years at the University of Regina has been working with and supporting students . I am grateful for all the opportunities the University has provided me and the many lifelong friends I have made along the way . It will be the people that I truly miss the most .”
Nick Forsberg
After 32 years of service with the Faculty of Education , Dr . Nick Forsberg retired on July 31 , 2021 . Nick served as a faculty member in the Health , Outdoor Education and Physical Education ( HOPE ) program and served as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Student Services from 2005-2010 .
