Day 3 – Wednesday January 30th
We went to the Slovakian Museum of Nature Protection, we visited the first floor of the museum, there was an exhibition about speleology and archeology. It was very interesting, we learnt information about formation of caves. The photo shows a groundwater circuit.
Next we went in the forest and we saw mushrooms, trees, animal footprints... We listened to the sounds of forest animals with instruments. We saw coniferous (for example : Scots Pine, Norway Spruce and European Larch). The most damaging factors for trees are insects and deforestation. On the photo there are students who are walking in the snow.
The view was great at the top of the mountain. The guide explained to us the different types of fauna and flora. These rocks form the basin and mountains in Liptov region.
Then we left for a small village where we took part in non-traditional winter activities. In groups we played games, made a fire, hammered nails, removed snow from an area… Cooperation with others was really important and we spent a very good time. Before leaving, we listened to a traditional musical instrument.
