Through
research, education, and storytelling,
we’re making it simple to cultivate and choose kindness, no
matter who you are or where you’re from. Throughout this
past year, we’ve found that kindness is an essential ingredi-
ent in social change.
To motivate people to be kind to each other and respect
our shared humanity, we had to show that kindness de-
serves to be taken seriously. So how can we take something
written off as warm and fuzzy and prove that it matters?
Leveraging science, data and technology is the answer.
Ahead of kindness.org’s official launch, we collaborated
with Oxford University researchers to review the existing
scientific work on kindness. The most consistent question
asked was, “what is the impact of being kind on human
well-being?” We learned that there is a substantial and
measurable effect on well-being across many areas. By
helping others, your own happiness, life-satisfaction, rela-
tionships, social connections and positivity are increased—
and life becomes more enjoyable.

We believe that kindness transcends difference to recog-
nize our shared humanity. Bullying, racism, mental health,
economic equality, homelessness, public policy, global
conflict, corporate culture, social isolation: kindness plays
a part in all of these issues. In our world today, we not only
believe that kindness is the key to positive social change,
we are measuring the impact to prove it.
To continue our mission to create kind behavior change
across the globe, we engage our 200K+ community mem-
bers in multiple ways. Having such a diverse community
makes it necessary to create various ways to get involved.
