Check the articles for accuracy and objectivity. Communicate with the contributor if major revisions are needed.
Consider your theme (convention results, spring/winter issue, etc). Brainstorm ideas for content and formatting that are consistent with your theme.
Plan how many pages you will make. The Torch: U.S. is usually around 30 pages but becomes a longer issue with results of competitions such as annual NJCL convention. are included.

Every editor has a unique way of creating a publication.
For me, these steps work well for editing the Torch: U.S.
Solicit articles, photo, and art according to your theme and outline. Assign feature writers to complete specific articles for the issue.

Include interactive content, multimedia, external links, etc. Tip: check that these elements work.
Lay out the articles. Make sure the layout is organized, aesthetically pleasing, effective, and creatively formatted. (More on formatting on the next page!)
