MacDermid appoints Prasenjit Das as senior sales manager
Prasenjit Das recently joined Mac- Dermid Graphics , a global enterprise in flexographic platemaking as well as printing solutions , as cluster senior sales manager for the South Asia region . Rahul Dwivedi , the previous head of sales for South Asia , has been appointed as senior business development manager for South Asia .
Das brings his 20 years of experience in the printing , textiles , and packaging industry to MacDermid Graphics Solutions . He was serving as vice president marketing - Asia and the Middle East for Apex Asia Pacific before joining MacDermid .
Das ’ new role would include managing and implementing MacDermid ’ s sales strategies , recognizing new

market opportunities , and furnishing dynamics to generate growth in the South Asia cluster . He will be reporting to Jesper Bringstrom , vice president - APAC , MacDermid Graphics Solutions .

Bobst Italia wins auction for Cerutti
Bobst Italia , located in San Giorgio Monferrato near Milan has acquired the remaining assets of the wellknown gravure press manufacturer Cerutti by winning the final auction for the acquisition of Cerutti . The industry press reports that the CEO of Bobst Italia , Davide Garavaglia stated that the acquisition of the remaining assets and the historic Cerutti brand will strengthen the Bobst group as well as the leadership position of Italian print technology in the global equipment manufacturing sector .
Garavaglia is responsible for Bobst ’ s gravure , laminating , coating and vacuum product lines of which the first three are based in Bobst Italia in San Giogio Monferrato with 440 Italian employees . Bobst says it intends to absorb the 30 former Cerutti employees while concluding the acquisition as soon as possible . Bobst also acquired label press manufacturer , Gi- Due which it renamed Bobst Firenze in the same Northern Italy region , several years ago .

Heidelberg sales improve
Heidelberger Druckmaschinen ( Heidelberg ) has made a positive start to the financial year 2021 / 22 ( April 1 , 2021 , to March 31 , 2022 ). Thanks to a broad market recovery in virtually all regions and growing successes from the group ’ s transformation strategy , the company has delivered the promised improvements in sales and operating profitability in the first quarter . For example , sales for the quarter increased by around a third compared with the previous year ’ s equivalent period , from Euros 330 million to Euros 441 million .
EBITDA , which was influenced in the equivalent quarter of the previous year by high earnings of Euros 73 million from the reorganization of retirement provision and the widespread use of short-time working , improved substantially on an operational level to Euros 15 million . 1 Thus , despite clearly reduced sales , the period under review ’ s figures even exceeded the pre-crisis level recorded in FY 2019 / 20 ( Euros 11 million ).
“ As demonstrated by our encouraging initial quarter of the financial year 2021 / 22 , Heidelberg is really delivering ! Buoyed by the global economic recovery and the notable improvement in operating profitability , we are also very optimistic about meeting the targets announced for the year as a whole ,” reports Heidelberg CEO Rainer Hundsdörfer .

Confidence regarding the financial year 2020 / 21 as a whole is being fueled by a broad market recovery that , along with orders from the successful trade show in China , has led to incoming orders of Euros 652 million – an increase of some 89 percent compared with the equivalent quarter of the previous year . Given the marked uptick in demand – especially for innovative new products such as the Speedmaster CX 104 universal press – Heidelberg is convinced it can continue building on the company ’ s market-leading position in China , the world ’ s number one growth market .
