ENroute Yearbook 2018-19

Welcome to the ENroute Yearbook 2018 – 19

Welcome to the fourth edition of the ENroute Yearbook . It is a great showcase for the exciting work that is taking place across our campuses , that can sometimes remain hidden within the busy day-to-day life of the university .
In last year ’ s issue I referred to the metrics , the statistics and measures we use to try to capture progress against the strategic plan . This year I would like to go ‘ beyond the metrics ’ and celebrate the activities and projects that inject enthusiasm and stimulate a love of learning among our students and staff . I am delighted to see how staff and students are collaborating and encouraging cross-disciplinary projects that reflect the type of inter-professional engagement that our graduates will encounter in their future careers . In preparing for the next learning and teaching

strategy , to be published in 2020 , I want to encourage this approach to learning and teaching at Edinburgh Napier so that we continue to learn through collaboration and the creation of a stimulating environment for lifelong learning among staff as well as students .
ENroute is our flagship for developing our skills as university educators . I am immensely grateful to all those involved , from the supportive and knowledgeable staff in DLTE to those many colleagues who give their time and energy to contribute to the success of ENroute . It is their collective enthusiasm that will drive excellence in learning and teaching at Edinburgh Napier . Adding a good dose of pleasure and enjoyment will be the key to ensuring that we are all ‘ lifelong learners ’.
