Celebrating the Heritage of Angus Angus Heritage Week will take place across the county of Angus from 13 – 20 September 2013. This festival is a celebration of the unique traditions, culture and history of Angus – and the inhabitants of this corner of Scotland across the centuries. The Tayroots Family History Day on 13 September will help people discover more about their ancestors’ contributions to the story of Angus with talks and workshops by family history experts in the historic surroundings of Brechin Mechanics’ Institute. As Angus Heritage Week encompasses the local Doors Open Days event over the weekend of the 14 and 15 September, several fascinating buildings in Angus will be welcoming visitors, including an underground relic from the days of the Cold War. This year, a number of gardens will also open their gates to the public, including Dunninald Gardens by Montrose. Throughout Angus Heritage Week, there will be a host of fascinating things to do and see, such as guided walks and tours, talks, workshops, family history sessions and much more. There’s something for everyone. For more information about Angus Heritage Week or to download a copy of the event guide, visit www.angusheritage.com.
