Running takes Hornet Jace Haerter out west

With fall cross country workouts underway , Edina senior Jace Haerter is seeking his third straight trip to the State Class AAA Meet .
At the same time , another big goal for Haerter is a chance to lead the Hornets team to state .
Like many good leaders of high school sports teams , Haerter would rather talk about his teammates than himself . In workouts this summer , he has seen a passionate group of Hornet runners that wants to make a statement this fall .
“ Seven of our top runners took a trip to Boulder , Col . this summer to train with different high school teams ,” Haerter began . “ It was really cool to get together with other runners . We ran the Magnolia Trail , where the University of Colorado team trains .”
Haerter mentioned other teammates who he has worked out with this summer : “ Kevin Nybeck has returned after missing track season with a knee problem . Zachary Danielson is nice and fit . Ray Anderson has worked really hard this summer . Charlie Hubbell is the third Hubbell to run for Edina . Ben Boudwyns , who works at Gear Running , is running with us this summer . We have a pretty fast sophomore , Miles Anderson . The Ohe brothers are back after the summer golf season . Torger is getting the miles in and Sander has been on the grind .”
