Editorial
“Edi-Blossom” is about to win everyone’s heart by her magnificent colourful appearance and the
fragrance of her content. It took almost five weeks of hard work of several gardeners in and outside
of Edinburgh – without the simplicity of water, hardness of soil and wisdom of light she would never
bloom today.
She is fortunate to blossom in the very auspicious time of Durgotsov – the festival of unity in
diversity. She is independent, fearless and candid, like a newborn baby. She will learn slowly how to
talk and how to develop, over the years and entertain us into the future. At present adore her, love
her, laugh at her clumsiness.
Without having any prior experience, I am responsible for the care of this lovely child. Neither do I
understand her, nor will I try to change her. I will instead wait to receive your feedback. Whatever
you find good with her – credits go to the creative contributors and some of my enthusiastic friends
who helped me to find them. I do not even know most of them – I’ve only met them through their
creations. It was a lovely experience.
I would like to thank all the contributors once again from the core of my heart. Special thanks go to
Priyanka, Sutapa and Utsa. Priyanka helped me greatly by finding six contributors, including
three outside of Edinburgh. Sutapa not only created the page layout, but also encouraged kids to
participate in the magazine. Utsa helped me with quick proofreading.
In spite of our best efforts, Edi-Blossom will not be free from unwanted spelling, grammatical or
contextual mistakes. I want to take the full responsibility of all her mistakes, as I truly believe our
little child will step up from Edinburgh to Scotland, to UK, and then to the rest of the world. She
will get her nutrition from all the creative minds who are helping her. Lets pray for her continued
success together.

Sumit Konar
