What does it take

A platform artist is one of the most exciting jobs in the beauty industry. If you'd love to be a platform artist or educator who travels from coast to coast and internationally showing off your creative skills in front of audiencences, then this is for you.

But first, what does it take? You'll need a few years of proven success, a high level of confidence, strong skills, speed, flawless technical ability and a gift for educating, performing and public speaking to become a platform artist. You can have all of the creative skills from behind the chair, but if you can't explain what you're doing and why you're doing it, then this might not be for you.

Most platform artist got their as an educator contracted part time or as an entry level artist by a product company to go into salons and educate stylist on the use of their products. If they exel at this task, they may be given the opportunity to become a part of a Team. This really depends on how bad and dedicated you are at wanting to become part of the Team. A lot of time while going through the trial stage, you may or may not be compensated for your services, but at the same time you are because you are gaining a lot of knowledge from a lot of the indusrry leaders, and you are able to travel and get into shows that you would have to pay to get in.

After you are successful as a platform artist, this can open many doors for you to start your own product company or salon.
