HFS Locals Only Spotlight: Twenty12 Tribe “Believe”
April 12, 2013 8:00 PM
It’s Friday night, so we decided to come loud and hard for tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight and introduce you to Twenty12 Tribe, a rock band from southern Maryland.
The band–founded by a married guitar/songwriting duo, David Phelps and Debbie Barlow-Phelps–broke away from their former band SickCircle to form a new project. Now armed with bassist Henry “H” Lopez, and drummer Shawn Wathen, and recently-added lead vocalist Randy Blake, they’re touring on their latest release, an EP named Stand, and your next chance to catch ‘em locally is on May 5th (that’s right, Cinco de Mayo) at Fish Head Cantina in southwestern Baltimore. (Plus, look for ‘em to be sharing the stage with 12 Stones this summer.)
Contrary to today’s music charts, Rock music is not dead! In fact it’s alive and well and can be heard loud and clear on the upcoming Twenty12 Tribe album. In a time where people have no faith in their government, their society, and are looking for something to believe in, Twenty12 Tribe brings a message of hope in their lyrical content.
