be the best and do the best for students , parents , school community and each other ,” she said . “ It takes everyone at a school site and throughout the district to guarantee the success of all of students . I am always inspired by the outstanding efforts I see and have seen every day as everyone tries to connect with students as they assist students to be the best that they can be and also assist each other to be the best that they can be .”
Taking part in that community effort is where Hayes takes pride in her job . As a principal – and now a director of Educational Services – she has had an opportunity to directly provide a quality education to students .
“ The quality of student learning is the ultimate measure of a school ’ s success ,” Hayes said . “ I am proud of being able to provide exceptional learning opportunities for students and staff . I have done that in the past and will continue to do that in the future .”
Hayes first joined ACSA while completing her master ’ s degree in administration .
“ Since then I have relied on ACSA throughout my career as the information source for education and administrators ,” she said . “ I have attended ACSA academies and work as an ACSA coach assisting other
administrators to be successful and now to meet the requirements to receive their credential . When a new state budget is released , I rely on ACSA for their analysis of the budget . The information provided by ACSA has always been pertinent , beneficial and extremely helpful . I am an avid reader of EdCal and look forward to the information and articles it provides . In so many ways , ACSA has been a partner and a support to me throughout my administrative career .”
Hayes noted the benefits of attending events such as Leadership Summit , where educators can keep up on the ever-evolving world of education , and the inspiration that it can provide .
“ I am inspired by teachers who are attending as many professional development opportunities as possible to redefine what is possible to achieve with students as they infuse students ’ learning into technology ,” Hayes said . “ Teachers ’ enthusiasm and quest to be creative and innovative through professional development , learning from each other and pushing themselves to be better for their students to encompass the change that technology has made in classrooms redefines the possibilities open to them and to their students .
“ Other administrators have also inspired me . I always work to strengthen and bolster my leadership skills and improve myself – my skill as an administrator and as a
person . Each of us has our strengths and our challenges . Working with others , always makes us better . Learning from others as we improve ourselves ultimately assists our students and the adults we work with to be more successful . Each and every administrator that I have been fortunate to work with throughout my career has made an impact on me and on my achievements .
