Mary Nishikawa has recently accepted
the position of Director of Student Support
Services and Alternative Education for the
Grossmont Union High School District.
She was previously the Assistant Director
of College & Career Readiness and was
also an Assistant Principal for 10 years.

Stephanie Houston has been selected as
the new assistant superintendent of Inno-
vation and Engagement for San Bernardino
County Superintendent of Schools, County
Superintendent Ted Alejandre announced.
“Stephanie comes to us with more than
24 years of experience serving the students
of our county and she has an extensive
career with the Colton-Redlands-Yucaipa
Regional Occupation Program (CRY-
ROP),” Alejandre said.
Houston, who earned her doctorate de-
gree from Brandman University, has served
as the superintendent of CRY-ROP for the
past 12 years. She also has been a teacher,
program manager and director for CRY-
ROP during her career.
She will begin her new role as assistant
superintendent of Innovation and Engage-
ment on July 1 and replaces Lynne Ken-
nedy, who retired from County Schools in
EDCAL 7
February. Sue Gott, a former administrator
with County Schools who retired in 2018,
is serving in an interim position for County
Schools until Houston begins her new
position in July.
