These demonstration projects will provide emerging and existing companies with an opportunity to showcase innovative clean technologies and circular economy solutions .
The expression of interest process will attract new , innovative technology demonstrations and businesses to the region .
3 . Optimise a market-driven response Bringing new cleantech and circular economy products to market requires a ‘ demand pull ’ to kickstart their development .
Cleantech Innovations Geelong will continue to stimulate the market on several fronts :
• Promoting and facilitating energy efficiency and renewable energy ;
• Leveraging urban development activity ;
• Advancing procurement for innovation activities ; and
• Advancing education and skills opportunities .
Stimulating a demand pull will mobilise a significant response across the Greater Geelong region , and define cleantech and circular economy opportunities by outcomes achieved : jobs , industry diversification and sustainable economic development .
Cleantech Innovations Geelong will support projects with potential to achieve these outcomes . Support will include assistance to complete market research , develop prototypes , run field trials , and / or facilitate local manufacturing opportunities .
The program ’ s small-scale grants will remain crucial to this form of market intervention .
