ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT QUARTERLY NEDC19 NATIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE WRAP UP The National Economic Development Conference wrapped up in Adelaide last month, with over 200 people enjoying Study Tours, Masterclasses, two stimulating conference days and an unforgettable awards gala at the Adelaide Zoo. The event kicked off with Study Tours, including a unique opportunity to explore the $90 billion state of the art shipbuilding facilities being constructed at Osborne, South Australia. The tour also took delegates through the western coastal region of Adelaide, showcasing the digital integration of projects in each of the four western Councils. Another bus load of delegates was treated to a Smart Cities Tour through Prospect and Unley. The roving delegation then joined the Masterclass by Robert Bell, which unveiled how to use powerful and disruptive tools of the digital age to grow economies, societies and cultures. Delegates then gathered for networking, music, fantastic food and stunning views at the rooftop welcome reception. VOL.12 NO.3 2019 | 28
