It has the perfect eco-system for the heaviest flying bird in the world, the impressive great bustard, you can see flocks from the roadside and even though you can see small lake birds like little grebes and moorhens, the most typical group of birds in the area is the steppe-land birds: Montagu’s harriers, hen harriers, lesser kestrels, little bustards, crested larks and calandra lark.
