The Valles de Benavente district
is a crossing for some of the
main rivers in the north-west
basin of the river Duero. You
can find over 40 species of
birds linked to these aquatic
habitats, some representative
species include kingfishers,
sand martins, bee-eaters, Eurasian tree sparrows, wagtails,
pipits, etc.
On route between the Congosta and Ayoo reservoirs you can
see water birds like the great
crested grebe and the Eurasian coot that have found their
ideal habitat here.
