Classmates Surround Student with Support
When 16-year-old Emily Bullock was diagnosed with lymphoma shortly before Christmas, everyone knew she had a rough road ahead of her.
But one thing was abundantly clear: she wouldn’t have to travel it alone. Her ECOT American Studies teacher, Johnathon Finch, sent a message to her classmates. In it, he described Emily’s circumstance and asked them each to write up a few words of support. His plan was to collect the well wishes and offer them to Emily during his next visit to the hospital. “I was happily surprised that I have received a tremendous response to my class-wide message,” Finch said. “The students have written that they will pray for Emily, keep her in their thoughts, and have given her many words of encouragement and support.
