Green MED Initiative Project, One of the Most Innovative
and Promising EU projects
Project Management and Steering Committee Meetings in Cagliari
The Green MED Initiative project funded under the ENPI CBC Med Programme, organized its Project Management and Steering Committee Meetings in Cagliari – Sardinia on the 18th & 19th of June 2013. The event was hosted by the Project Partner ANCI( Regional Association of the Municipalities of Sardinia), and gathered 10 other project partners, as well as the beneficiary of the Project, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture of Beirut & Mount Lebanon.

On the margin of these meetings, Ms. Diana Kobayter and Mr. Fady El Sabeh met on June 20 th with the Director General of the ENPI CBC Med Programme, Mrs. Anna Maria Catte, and with the Program expert Mr. Luca Palazzo, to discuss the project’ s progress and the future planned actions. To date, GMI is considered as one of the best performing strategic projects, and the JMA is looking forward for its positive and sustainable results since this iniatiative is one of the most innovative and promising projects... The meeting ended with a brief overview of the Communication Plan with the Program expert Mr. Hamze Jammoul.
The purpose of the Project Management Meeting was to discuss the project’ s progress until to date in terms of activities, outputs and work packages( WPs). Each WP Leader delivered a detailed presentation of the work already completed and the work plan for the upcoming semester. The beneficiary representatives( Ms. Diana Kobayter – Project Manager of GMI and Mr. Fady El Sabeh – Financial Manager of GMI) presented respectively the Management & Coordination guide, and the Financial Guide, which will serve as a guideline for the Project Partners during the implementation period.
An additional session was dedicated to explain the main items of the six months report( narrative and financial), in addition to other pending issues such as minor budget changes.
The Steering Committee( SC) meeting which took place on June 19th, was led by Mrs. Hana Nehme, SC delegate on behalf of the Chamber of Beirut & Mount Lebanon. The Agenda included the following points: Approval of the Minutes of the Kick Off Meeting held in January 2013; approval of the Technical Assistance tender; approval of the ToR for the Reverse Vending Machines( RvMs); selection criteria of the schools and the approval of the MoU to be signed with the participating schools. Minor budget changes requested by some project partners were also discussed and approved by the Consortium before being transmitted in writing to the JMA.
Moreover, participants agreed on conveying the project partner Averda Servus to launch, on behalf of all the partners, a global tender for the Reverse Vending Machines( RvMs). The timeframe and details of the tender were approved, and once finalized, the call for tender will be published in the Official
