Alternative energy sources – the energy sources in nature, which use natural things. For
example sunlight, water energy and wind energy.
In Estonia there are 3 types of alternative energy what we can use – sunlight, water energy and
wind energy.
We have over 10 wind farms in Estonia. Mostly they are situated in the coastline. For example
in Virtsu, in Paldiski and in Narva. Estonian
Government is planning to build a big wind farm near
to island Hiiumaa.
Our rivers are to small to have hydroelectric plants.
We have only 7 hydroelectric plants in Estonia and
they are situated in our biggest rivers. For example in
river Keila and in river Jägala.
We have many solar energy power plants. It´s very
popular in Estonia to use solar energy power.
We love Estonian nature and we want to protect it so we reccomend to use alternative energy
sources. We are happy that they are popular in our country and that our government is
supporting alternative energy sources more every year.
