Alternative energy sources
Alternative energy sources - the energy sources in nature, which use natural things like
sunlight, wind, river flow, sea waves, tides, biomass growth and geothermal energy. Almost
all the primary sources of renewable energy resources is solar energy. In Lithuania there are
alternative forms of energy, such as wind energy, solar energy, geothermal energy,
hydropower.
Wind Energy - wind turbines made in Denmark, Germany, Finland operate in Lithuania.
At the end of 2013, there were about 1852 solar energy power plants which give electrical
energy. In western part of Lithuania there is geothermal energy, which is divide in four
boreholes linked horizons. Hydropower produces energy from a moving water. 1910 in
Lithuania Anykščiai was built the first Hydroelectric power station.
I think that alternative energy sources are the best way to protect the environment. It does
not pollute the nature. It reduces the increasingly expensive imported fossil fuels, natural gas
and petroleum products usage. We should use it.

The most popular alternative energy forms are: Solar, Hydro, Bio-energy, Wind.
Here in Lithuania we use solar, wind, hydro, bioenergy, aerothermal and hydrothermal
energy sources.
I think any alternative energy is good, because we prevent air pollution and climate change.
I also think, that we should use only alternative energy, because of the situation of Earth.
We all want clean air, normal climate and long life! So let’s do what’s best for all of us. Save
the Earth!

Alternative energy sources importance
There are many forms of renewable energy all over the world. Most of these renewable
energies depend on natural factors. For example, there are solar panels (sun energy), wind
power, hydroelectric energy, hydrogen and fuel cells, geothermal and etc..
In Lithuania the most popular forms of the alternative energy are wind power and sun
energy. And I think its really good, that renewable energy gets more popular every year! You
may ask, why? Well, firstly renewable energy is much more easier to use and make. Secondly
renewable energy pollutes much, much less and is a better alternative as it is cleaner and
safer.
In the third place renewable energy saves a lot of money and produces much more
energy than you can imagine. According to the statistics a lot of people around the world
started to use these wonderful energy receiving inventions last year which is really great.
