Ross “RC” McCree was born in Houston, Texas. Currently based out of Austin, the singer has been performing for over ten years and performed his first show at Walter’s on Washington in Houston. The 28-year-old released his single “Ideals” on January 2nd, which you can find on all streaming platforms. We caught up with RC to find out a little more about him and what his plans are for 2020.
CGS: What genre of music do you sing?
RC: It is always difficult to really pinpoint a genre because I like diving into pretty much any genre, but I think the genres I stay consistent with are Alternative R&B/ Alternative Pop.
CGS: Who are your musical inspirations?
RC: The 1975, Brent Faiyaz, The Dangerous Summer, Armor for Sleep, No Rome, Kaleidoscopes, Harry Connick Jr.
CGS: What are some of your highlights of 2019?
RC:-Being a featured artist on projects for MC Righteous and J.Saenz
-Performing the song “Feels” with MC Righteous at Flamingo Cantina
-Working with multiple producers/artists including Yandi, Mr.Po, Vinayak, etc…
-Being a part of the Round Rock Diwali Bollywood Fashion Show
CGS: What has been your favorite venue to play in Austin?
RC: So far, I have greatly enjoyed being able to perform at Flamingo Cantina on 6th Street
CGS: What are some of your goals for 2020?
RC: -Release more singles and an EP
-Perform in a few unofficial SXSW shows
-Get the attention of Dirty Hit Records -(ambitious, I know!)
