Catching Up With
Chris by Christine Clark
I had the chance to catch up with Anthony Johnson, of Anthony Johnson Photography, and full-time photography student at ACC. After our quick introduction, he was ready to answer my questions.
Christine:Greetings, Anthony!
Anthony:Hi, Christine. Happy New Year! It's a pleasure to sit down and chat with you today. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
Christine: How long have you been a photographer?
Anthony:Just a little over 2 years – off and on.
Christine:Describe your style of photography.
Anthony:I shoot a lot of swimwear, but I want to change how people view swimwear photographs. I know sex sells, but so does classy and elegant.
Christine:What type of camera do you shoot with?
Anthony:Canon 6D.
Christine: If you could only use one lens, which one would it be and why?
Anthony:That’s a tough question – it’s like asking a mountain climber to pick only one tool to climb a mountain. But, I guess I would choose Canon’s 50mm 1.2.
Christine: List the equipment you would take to an “on location” shoot.
Anthony:I like to travel light, so I normally only take my camera, lens, flash, and light modifier; maybe a light reflector or two and back up batteries, and cards, which all fit in my shoulder bag.
Christine:Do you have a favorite editing accessory?
Anthony:Music! Without music in my life, I doubt I could get through all of the editing. Ha!
Christine:How important is Photoshop in your final images?
Anthony:If I am editing an event, I don't even touch Photoshop, it's all done in Lightroom. However, if I am editing a piece for swimwear, then Photoshop is very important for my final images.
