Making Connections

WITH YOUR CHILD

We all require personal interaction to learn , children especially . Your infant and toddler ’ s brain is absorbing vital information well before they are able to respond . The high pitched , sing-song tone that many people use with babies does get their attention , but let ’ s not stop there . Using rich , varied language and longer sentences directly spoken to them matters . You can make connections with your child by speaking about what they may seeing or experiencing right now , “ Look at how fluffy that dog ’ s tail is . It is much larger than the cat ’ s thin tail .” Talking intently to your young learner with frequency and complexity helps them to develop vocabulary , receptive and expressively .
