The XXL Freshman list came out a couple of weeks ago and although I think it isn't that bad, I do have my own reservations. Anyway I wouldn't like to bore you so straight to the point: "Are the fresh cats in our industry up to the task?" Once again there are a new generation of Ghanaian artist spinning from Afro-beat/Pop to what we choose to call Gh rap and at other times, Hip Hop. Neo-soul and Dancehall is also getting popular and swaying us into that wave. But my problem is, after entertaining Ghanaians what happens next? I've had the opportunity to listen to some of the fairly good acts out there who I'd prefer to say, are pushing the limits. I can talk of artistes who fuse Pop/Rock with Gospel.
