THAT’S A GOOD
QUESTION
KNOWLEDGE FOR
COLLEGE
NOURISHING YOUR
CHILD’S CURIOSITY
When children ask questions we don’t always have the right answers or know
what to say. It’s okay to say, “I don’t know, but we can find out together.”
DRESS UP DAY
In the spirit of wonder and good questions our students ponder,
think about one of these questions and take some time to find the
answer with your child. Some of us used Encyclopedia Britannica
when we were growing up, but now we have Google. Either way,
listen to some questions and find the answers. Choose any answer
and dress up for our Parade of Knowledge to celebrate all the
things we can learn.
Whether it’s a dictionary or google or even an impromptu interview with
someone who knows, we’d like to encourage families to take the time with
your children to find the answers to the questions. They ask these questions
because they are naturally curious wanting to discover the world around
them. Asking questions leads to new pathways of adventure for your child. It
stimulates their minds and excitement for learning, especially when they can
share it with friends at school or role play it during activities with friends.
Being curious is the best way to be to become and stay a lifelong learner. Some of our learners might enjoy learning about animals and
choose an animal, or a historical figure or event, or even dress up as
a meaning of new vocabulary word. Oh so much to inquire!
