READING IS WORTH IT

“ The more that you read , the more things you will know . The more that you learn , the more places you ’ ll go .” ~ Dr . Seuss
There are 3 indicators that are linked to early reading success : phonological awareness , letter knowledge , and print and book awareness . Children who cannot hear or manipulate the sounds that make up words will have severe difficulty connecting sounds to individual letter symbols and combinations of letters .
To engage all our young learners in these skills for this very important reason , we foster many activities with sounds in our environment each day – especially rhyming with nursery rhymes , books , and rhythmic chants to play with language ! Dr . Seuss rhymes with silly animals and ideas bring laughter and fun with these very important skills . You can keep reading at home to match our efforts as well .
