Junior Cricket in 2019
We are also aiming to improve
the experience for those children
migrating from school to club.
Currently there is a variety of
different formats played across
England and Wales and it can be
often confusing for coaches and
players alike, so by all leagues
adopting the recommendations,
along with Chance to Shine who
do a fantastic job delivering
cricket and competitions in
schools, the experience for all
parties will be an improved one.
Adoption of the formats across
leagues will allow us to provide
better support and guidance
through our networks and coach
development programmes –
making this not only worthwhile
for those playing, but for
those coaching, managing and
administrating.
“By
understanding
the formats
being played
across the
leagues at this
age we will be
able to provide
better support
and guidance.”
All information,
recommendations and formats
are available at ecb.co.uk/play/
junior/junior-formats where you
can access the junior formats
handbook in a downloadable
format.
We hope you and the players
you coach are as excited by
these changes as we are, and are
looking forward to an improved
experience and development
this summer and beyond!
