Town Square
Welcome to the Georgetown Square, the “Most
Beautiful Town Square in Texas.” Host to many
special events, from First Fridays on the Square and
Second Saturdays, to Music on the Square and The
Georgetown Swirl, the square is lovingly known as
the “heart” of the city. Its growing mix of businesses
and residents support and enjoy the vibrant daily
activity and special events that bring people from all
over to experience authenticity.
In March of each year,
the Georgetown Main
Street Program holds
Texas wine, local food
and downtown shopping
celebration on the Square. Guests stroll the historic
square with their commemorative tasting glass and
visit participating retail outlets where they sample
wine and food while enjoying shopping specials.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Main Street
Façade & Sign Grant Program that helps downtown
business and building owners.
Family-friendly entertainment doesn’t get
any better than the annual Red Poppy
Festival, a Georgetown and Central Texas
tradition. To celebrate the annual April
bloom of poppies and the title of “Red
Poppy Capital of Texas,” over 65,000
people attend the festival to enjoy family,
friends, music, and food for days of
endless fun.
Each December, the
Georgetown Square
is transformed into a
genuine Christmas card brought-to-life. Enjoy arts,
crafts, kids activities, and a visit with Santa Claus
in a magical setting of trees lined with twinkling
white lights The Magic of the Stroll is as real as the
enchanted memories it has created since 1980.
