Forney’s largest and newest development is Gateway, a 2,000-acre mixed-use property comprised
of single family, multifamily, industrial and commercial opportunities. The $23 million six-lane
Gateway Bridge spans U.S. Highway 80 and connects the north and south ends of Gateway
Boulevard. Due to Forney’s strategic location near Dallas, Petro-Hunt chose to develop Gateway
as the premier destination for commerce and housing activity for the growing eastern portion of
the DFW Metroplex.
Gateway Parks subdivision on the southern portion will eventually house 1,850 single family
homes at buildout, which Gateway Cedars, Gateway Oaks and Gateway Pines each provide 300
upscale multifamily units on the north end. Gateway Pines is currently under construction and will
provide an additional 300 units. Between Gateway multifamily and US Highway lies 400 acres of
mixed-use land, suitable for office, entertainment, retail, healthcare and other commercial uses.
South of US Highway 80 lies 700 acres of available industrial land with rail service by Union
Pacific. Hillwood Properties currently has under construction a 1.2 million square foot Goodyear
Tire Distribution Center under construction on this site. Suitable uses for this property include
advanced manufacturing, logistics, data centers and technology.
