Firstly, we got involved in lives of this age group by introducing the “Voltron” cartoon hero, a robot that is eager to defend the universe, knows the importance of science, works with cooperation and determination and that left an indelible impression on many kids’ dreams in the past as well. We tried to show that in STEM concept, more powerful and didactic courses could be taught by combining different courses and disciplines as dogs of different colors unite and forms the powerful robot in this cartoon. The main aim of these activities is to raise individuals who observe, defend and love nature; protect their pasts; consider and already set goals for the future; knows that they may survive difficulties by cooperation and are aware of interdisciplinary studies. We applied theme-based STEM model by setting themes among partner schools to help students determine problems around themselves and find solutions. We expected that the student groups can solve problems they encounter with the best design using research and inquiry based approaches by making international teams lay schemes as per the 5E model, follow the STEM cycle and guide the students. We enriched the themes not only by STEM plan applications but also scientists correlated with the theme, future jobs, cartoons, interviews and studies like story writing. We gathered experts who study engineering and practice this profession and students together. We also participated in STEM Discovery Week 2019 with unique works of our project.
