RESULTS

The STEM-oriented teaching carried out during the project helped the students develop their questioning skills. The students found ways to reach facts beyond the absolute true by research. The studies conducted in the light of science had an impact on many students’ decision for their future jobs. The student who said to be an engineer in the first grade could now say that he would like to be a professional artificial intelligence engineer in line with our project studies. We made learning permanent by including gamification in our project studies. Thanks to the student interview, which was one of our project subjects, titled “How much does my school know STEM”, the perspectives of our school management, teachers and students on STEM were determined and aroused interest in following-up of our prospective studies in our project. A STEM workshop was held at our school in line with interests and requests of our school teachers who followed up the project studies and with the contributions of the Provincial Directorate of National Education.

At the beginning of the project, and at the end of themes and the project, student and teacher questionnaires were conducted; their results were announced and interpreted. The parent questionnaires were conducted for twice, one at the beginning and the other at the end of the project, and then interpreted. According to results of these questionnaires, our project greatly achieved its objectives.

In order to promote the project, we appeared on EBA via news and on school websites via news and announcements; we participated in STEM exhibitions; we publicized our project in school seminars; we presented logos to our Minister of National Education, university officials and various district chiefs; we conducted school TV broadcasts and opened a stand in the exhibition held by the Greek Physicists Association in Greece.
