ENJOYING Savannah F OOD & W INE F E S T IVA L ON A BUDGET? EVENT No. 1 Take a Class! What better way to start off your week long culinary experience than by diving in, head first. Instead of picking up a tasty treat from a server’s tray, why not make one yourself. These three hour classes are NOT, I repeat NOT, for those only with cooking experience. No need to feel intimidated because you only know how to boil water. Wherever you are in your culinary expertise, you will walk out feeling like you might actually know more than you walked in with. By Kerilyn Russo 8 This year’s Festival is no different for me, to enjoy the breath that the festival has to offer without feeling spent, both physically and yes, financially. I liken going to a Food & Wine Festival with a golf tournament. You gear up to do a whole lot of walking, standing around, and mingling, the only difference (albeit the tasty difference) is you get to partake in the culinary delights that Savannah has to offer. For the thrifty minded, I’m going to suggest three events and one splurge that will leave you feeling like you enjoyed the festival, without feeling like you missed something because you didn’t do it ALL. 9
