Engineering bodies
There is a number of professional bodies in the engineering
industry where you can ?nd speci?c industry-information and seek
further quali?cations, such as the Association of Consultancy and
Engineering (ACENET), Engineering Council (EC), Institution of Civil
Engineers (ICEnet), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and
Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) among many others.
In Malaysia, the governing body of engineers is the Institution
of Engineers (IEM) with the primary function of promoting and
advancing the science and profession of engineering in any or all
of its disciplines, as well as facilitating the exchange of information
and ideas related to engineering.
