Magnolia Minton-Sparke. Remember that name. At only 15 years of age, Magnolia is
an emerging and aspiring photographer. Her interest in photography simply began
when she found photography accounts on Instagram and thought... “I can do that,”
proving that a hobby and interest can attract thousands of followers.
Which is your favourite and least-favourite location to shoot at?
“I love shooting on cloudy days and it doesn’t matter where I am, whether it be 5:30
am at Bronte Beach or in and around my home town, the Inner West. My least
favourite place to shoot (even though it was fun) would be the Cronulla sand dunes.
We were trapped in a sandstorm. That was traumatic.”
What is a memorable photography experience?
“Getting to photograph Frank Watters at his country home and getting reposted by
Tigerlily on Instagram!
Mostly, the fun stuff that goes into creating a shot, like climbing up trees, running
around empty beaches, usually getting soaked in water or being piggy backed to
get a shot because I'm not tall enough! Discovering new places I would never have
found otherwise. It's always fun and exciting.”
What is the hardest part about photography?
“It's the worry that people won't like my photos. But it's important not to care and just
do what you do and love every minute of it.” ✿
