EASTPOINTE COUNTRY CLUB M O N T H LY N E W S L E T T E R GM Corner July/August, 2017 Dear Members, July and August are transitional months for Eastpointe. We are excited to begin our enhancement projects which are now underway. The East Course has new cart paths on holes 4 through 6 and will also have newly repaired bulk heads on holes 16 and 18. You may have noticed that our Social Committee has embraced the mission of improving the Club’s “First Impression.” They have re-arranged our lobby; added a few material enhancements and added the great visual effect of a baby grand piano. And they aren’t through yet! I have also charged the committee with redesigning our lobby rest rooms. We have set aside time this August to freshen these rooms with new paint, color and a modern sensibility. I am excited by the committee’s continued passion and commitment. At the same time, I have asked the Social Committee to have a fresh look at our Club’s dress code. Any changes to the policy will soon be communicated. As the season’s change and the community fills with more guests, it is important that we maintain our collective sense of appropriate dress and decorum at our Club. The Club’s dress policy is its outward expression of gentility, orderliness and propriety. We also respectfully ask our members to kindly inform their guests of the dress policy when visiting the Club’s facilities. I mentioned in an earlier communication that we had successfully transitioned two of our management team members. As a reminder, please know that Mary Avila-Yurdatap, whom you had seen in our dining room as a seasonal replacement the past few weeks has now joined us as a permanent member of the team. She and Deon Hicks now both hold the title of Dining Room Manager. Furthermore, Chef Jackie Barthelemy is to become the Club’s Clubhouse Manager. That means she will oversee the dining room, bar operations, culinary, housekeeping, valet, and repair and maintenance. For the time being she remains an active participant in the kitchen, helping to prepare fabulous meals. We anticipate that her permanent replacement in the kitchen will join us in September; in time for the advent of next season. Thank you and I hope and trust you are all having a fabulous summer!
