June, 2017
Dear Members,
May was a transitional month for Eastpointe. We have just emerged from “busy season.”
But it is still busy for us as more members elect to stay within the gates year-round.
The club’s calendar for May was filled with new and exciting things. I heard from so
many members who were thrilled with the Cinco de Mayo experience on May 5 th .
Mother’s Day, May 14 was a smashing success. We served over 300 happy members.
Our first ever Pub Night on May 18 was also very well received. It will be a good
problem to have if we must extend “Pub” Night into the Dining Room. Since May marks
the real beginning of summer temps it was only appropriate that we hosted our Friday
Night Clam Bake on May 19. On May 13, we successfully staged a Bar Mitzvah and a
wedding on the same evening. For me, these “members for a day” are all potential
opportunities for future memberships!
On May 30, we staged our Google 360 Virtual Tour of both Clubhouses. Within a brief
time, people will be able to see our Club from wherever they have a device in their
hands. We will be one of the few clubs in our area to have this terrific marketing
enhancement.
For June, we hope to see you at the Sock Hop Dinner Buffet on the 9 th ; Pub Night on
the 15 th ; Wine and Dine on the 23 rd and of course Bingo on the 30 th .
I am also excited for June as our workman’s projects begin again to shine and buffer the
club’s polished look following a busy season. We have a laundry list of restorations
ahead of us including a few aesthetic touches for our lobby. First impressions are
everything and we want all our members to feel proud of their first steps into the
building once the big doors swing open.
Speaking of transitions please be mindful of seasonal Clubhouse and golf course closings.
At the West Clubhouse, although the golf course may be closed we still have bar
service and limited lunch service for members enjoying the pool or the card rooms. If
the East Course is closed, the building and all services are closed although card players
may still gather with friends for usual card play activity.
Thank you and please have a safe and happy summer.
