Captain’s Report
What a fantastic day!
Jimmy Sales was celebrating his 500th Game badge and his
45year tie. What an achievement
Nomads came from far and wide to be present at this special
occasion.
We had representation from Easterns, Gauteng, Northerns,
Lowveld, Border, Eastern Cape, Boland, Western Province and
Southern Natal.
We had, from across our Borders, Swaziland, Botswana and
Zimbabwe, who turned up to be part of this great day
The occasion was also marked by the fact that it was the National Chairmans annual visit to
Easterns. Vic, thank you for being with us on this special occasion and for the effort you put into
Jimmy’s gift. I am sure it is something that he will treasure, even when the last drop has been
dispatched.
I played with the Chairman, Vic Hall and we had the honor of playing against Robbie Frank,
National PRO and Antonio Rossetti our main man at South African Breweries. Vic squared beat
them on the back nine and over all, but still only took R10 ???
The day started off a bit fresh for the morning field but turned out to be fantastic once the
afternoon field started
Thanks to Pieter Kruger, our sponsor of the day from ARROW BULK Logistic’s. Pieter, thank you for
assisting with the marshaling and we look forward to seeing you back on the course in the next
month or two.
To Sheldon Monk, the Ebotse Captain, thanks to you and your members for giving up the course
for the whole day. It was highly appreciated. The course was in excellent condition and the days
average of 28.7 proves that the boys tamed Ebotse.
To Terry and Cheryl, a big thank you for being up early to get the morning field off and to Terry
and Cathy for getting the afternoon field off. You guys are stars!!
To Mark Ablett and Tee starter Kevin Roache and Stuart Anderson, thank you for getting the
morning field away. Mark was assisted by Raju Kika and Richard Hunter to get the afternoon field
off to a good start!
And to keep the field flowing, our 2 Marshalls Pieter and Wes Kruger – Thanks guys, much
appreciated.
In true Nomads tradition, the boys lined up around the eighteenth to welcome Jimmy in with
traditional champagne after his 18 holes.
Prize giving was well attended and congratulations to Jimmy for achieving 500games and
getting his 45year tie. He was also presented with a new Taylormade Golf bag and Kit bag from
Easterns and a very specially inscribed 3 Litre bottle of brandy.
