WAIHI EAST SCHOOL
SCHOOL NEWSLETTER 13/25 21st August 2013
Kia ora Wahoo the zoo trip was one happening event this week. Children returned to school full of excitement after an awesome adventure at the zoo. A huge thank you to our teachers, support staff and parents who made sure children came home with beautiful memories. Our thanks also to our insightful Board of Trustees who paid for the transport. The road trip in itself was super cool for our tamariki. Sadly, I was unable to attend this event as I was number crunching our achievement data for our Board of Trustees and Ministry of Education. In saying this, I can’t wait to share our data and the next teaching steps to make sure our children are getting the best education possible. Tomorrow I head away to Hamilton to visit the Ministry of Education and view schools. I have been invited to the Ministry to discuss the exciting initiatives happening at Waihi East School and their impact on achievement for our tamariki. It is lovely to be identified as a successful school and I look forward to sharing the Waihi East School experience with others. Visiting schools is always important as well. I will be a magpie, checking out new initiatives and bringing them back to the Team for possible implementation. Lastly my congratulations to Phil and Briar who have been made permanent teachers at Waihi East School. Both teachers make a significant impact at our school and it is great to have them employed in this capacity instead of a year by year contract. Nga mihi nui koutou Emily ([email protected])
