WAIHI EAST SCHOOL SCHOOL NEWSLETTER 13/24 14th August 2013 Kia ora Our tamariki are very excited about the school disco tomorrow at the St James, Presbyterian Church, Moresby Ave, Waihi (just up from Subway). This is a child run disco however parental help with supervision is appreciated. Gold coin donation entry fee and kai is available. Check out the menu and costs. This disco is for your whanau– older/younger brothers and sisters. Please drop and pick your children up from the door. Pick up no later than 7.30pm. We know all children will be respectful of this event. All funds raised go towards year 5/6 camp 2014. Thank you to whanau who have paid $7 per person for the zoo trip. I hate getting my ‘grumpy pants’ on!! We need more adults to supervise at the zoo. Please return the slip below to help us organize our exciting day. Twenty parents are required for this event to go ahead. We will text out all parents Friday afternoon if the trip has been cancelled due to lack of payment and/or supervision. We still have a considerable amount of chocolate to sell. I am looking for a parent or two who could take children down town at lunchtime to sell these chocolate bars. All parent helpers will go in the draw for the bike as an additional thank you. Once our chocolates are sold we are able to draw the bike. Doctor Tineke is back in action every Monday morning from approximately 9am. Please feel free to make an appointment with her by phoning the school or visiting the office. We want to keep our tamariki happy, healthy and ready to learn. Remember this is a free service. Thanks Tineke. Nga mihi nui koutou Emily ([email protected]) MATHETHON Please bring your sponsor sheets back to school as soon as possible. The Mathethon will take place tomorrow (Thursday). You child’s score will be entered onto the sponsor sheet and sent home again to collect the sponsored amount of money. The money raised will go towards the school trip to Hamilton Zoo. Fees can be paid by applying to the Golden Steps Trust. An easy to fill out form is available in the office. SICKNESS A huge number of students and staff have been wiped out by our latest round of ills and chills. Please phone the office if your child is not attending school. This saves the admin team phoning you!! CHOCOLATES We still have boxes of chocolates for sale at school. For every box sold your family goes into the draw for a brand new BMX bike.
