Children’s Art Classes
Opened in 1901, the Dick Institute is one of the
most important cultural venues in the south-
west of Scotland, featuring the largest museum
and galleries in Ayrshire, and East Ayrshire’s
central library.
Featuring a programme of often nationally
important exhibitions, permanent displays
of the museum’s diverse collections and
innovative work by contemporary artists,
makers and young people from the area, the
Dick Institute has a growing reputation for the
quality and scope of its exhibitions and events.

Ignite the curiosity of your children with
our weekly Little Explorers programme.
This is designed especially for children aged
between three and five years where they
can enjoy an interactive experience that
immerses them in the stories, objects and
spaces of the Dick Institute.
Experienced facilitators will use play and
drama to engage the senses, incorporating
story, song, movement, rhyme, observation,
explorations, communication, and tactile
sensations in each session.
Sessions are free and will run for 45 minutes.
These will be strictly limited to 15 children
plus an accompanying parent/guardian
and we advise early booking to avoid
disappointment.

will exp lore a range of art mediums and
materials to help improve drawing skills.
