WELCOMING,
SAFE &
RELAXING
The district of Wairoa (Te Wairoa) is one
of life’s best-kept secrets. A place where
you can realx, focus on family and
friends (rather than traffic congestion),
breath clean air and swim in clean
waters, eat fresh fish, venison, fruits of
all kinds, and just enjoy life - the way it
was meant to be enjoyed.
Te Wairoa is enjoying a growing
reputation as an artistically creative
centre - one where an authentic, deeply
cherished Māori heritage provides
inspiration for art. The establishment
of the Long River Gallery on the bank
of the meandering Wairoa River
provides an opportunity for local
artists to showcase their work. The
Whakamahia Recreational Precinct
(shown in the background) is the site
of New Zealand’s international Wood
Sculpting Festival. The festival is to be
held for the first time in April 2017, and
will provide a fantastic opportunity for
sculptors to work amongst some of the
most beautiful and unspoiled scenery
on Earth.
While here, why not extend your
stay and enjoy some of the stunning
New Zealand scenery such as Lake
Waikaremoana - one of New Zealand’s
9 Great Walks. Or visit the Mōrere
Hotsprings, and soak away the tension
in those muscles after each day’s
sculpting efforts? Or visit Space Coast
New Zealand, home to Launch Complex
1 - Rocket Lab’s space launch facility
on the spectacular Māhia Peninsula
- arguably the world’s most beautiful
space launch complex location. The
beaches of the Māhia Peninsula are
breathtakingly beautiful. Try your hand
at surfing, or just play in the placid
waters of our more serene beaches.
