English, Maths and ESOL It is important to have strong skills in English and maths in order to progress in education, improve your prospects at work and get by in daily life. If you want to get more out of life but are worried that your English and maths skills are holding you back, we can help you reach your goals. Functional Skills English and Maths courses can be studied as a stand alone qualification or as a stepping stone to GCSE. These courses give you practical skills for the modern world and help you get the most from life, learning and work. Harrison completed Functional Skills Maths Level 2 and will start his PGCE in September 2019. Harrison said: “ I want to be a role model for younger generations, especially if they don’t like maths or science” ESOL courses help you to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing.
