Learning Support
We welcome all learners and want to ensure you get the most out of the courses you attend.
Improving access
We try to make programmes and activities accessible. This could range from making a course
available in a room that is more suitable, to providing support for learners who are hard of
hearing, visually impaired or need a different computer mouse because of arthritis.
Dyslexia support
Learners assessed as dyslexic can be supported either one-to-one or sometimes in small
groups which are facilitated by a specialist support tutor.
Information, advice and guidance
Within our initial assessment sessions, we offer free and confidential information, careers
advice and guidance.
English and maths support
English and maths needs are supported on all courses and for vocational and exam courses,
learners are required to attend a pre-course assessment see page 7 for dates. Based on this
assessment, you may be advised to attend additional classes. All our courses have English and
maths embedded.
In-class support
In all classes learners have an individual learning plan and the tutors will put appropriate
strategies in place to ensure that all learners can succeed on their courses dependent on
learner attendance and engagement. Additional in class support is provided for learners with
learning disabilities and difficulties.
Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults, and to providing an
environment that is safe and secure for all. If you have concerns about the treatment of young
people or of vulnerable adults, please contact us urgently: [email protected]
