This could range from making a course available in a room that is more accessible, to providing support for learners who are hard of hearing, visually impaired or need a different computer mouse because of arthritis. • Dyslexia support – Learners assessed as dyslexic can be supported either one-to-one or sometimes in small groups which are facilitated by a specialist support tutor. Tutors will provide handouts on different coloured paper or present information more visually. • IAG – Within our initial assessment sessions we offer free and confidential information, advice and guidance linked to careers in teaching, social work and childcare please see listing. See page 7. • Literacy and/or numeracy support – Literacy and numeracy needs are assessed on vocational courses. Based on this assessment, you may be advised to attend additional classes. All our courses have literacy and numeracy embedded. • In-class support – In all classes learners have an Individual Learning Plan and the tutors will put appropriate strategies in place to ensure that all learners can succeed on their courses dependent on learner attendance and engagement. • Safeguarding – We are committed to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults, and also to providing an environment that is safe and secure for all. If you have concerns about the treatment of young people or of vulnerable adults please contact us urgently: [email protected] • Prevent – Ealing Adult Learning is committed to respond to the challenge of terrorism and radicalisation and the threat we face from those who promote it. We will make every effort to support learners who may be at risk of being drawn into terrorism and radicalisation by referral to appropriate services. 12 Enrol now www.ealing.gov.uk/adultlearning
