Jaguars Host Inaugural Fantasy
Camp with Special Olympians
The Jaguars made signifi cant roster moves on June 27 when they signed approximately 30
Special Olympians to one-day contracts when they hosted the Jaguars Football Fantasy Camp in
conjunction with Special Olympics Florida.
After giving the kids a tour of TIAA Bank Field to start the morning, the Jaguars surprised them by
taking them to a locker room where each kid had a customized jersey waiting for them at a locker
with their name. The Special Olympians all tried on their jerseys and then put ink to paper, signing
their one-day contracts.
After signing their contract, it was time to get to work. Donning their new jerseys, the Special
Olympians headed to the Dream Finders Homes Flex Field at Daily’s Place where they were
greeted by the Jaguars 2019 rookie class.
Jaguars’ rookies and the Special Olympians
went through a series of skill stations in the
fl ex fi eld, including receiving drills, agility drills
and of course, many touchdown celebrations.
“Our athletes had a great time and I think
the players did, too” said Special Olympics
Development Director Jessica Ray. “These
kids are 6-, 7-years old and they were just
having the time of their lives.”
The newest Jaguars then celebrated their
one-day signing with a pizza party to conclude
the event.
“This was awesome,” Jaguars rookie DE/LB
Josh Allen said about the event. “It was great
to be out there to support and get in touch with
these kids. I had a great time trying to show
them they are special and that we are here for
them. It was fun for me and I think they had a
lot of fun as well.”
