LETTER FROM THE YOGA STUDIO
Although you may have heard that yoga can improve your golf game , you may not yet know why . Whether you want to play more competitively or simply feel better on and off the course , yoga might just be what you are looking for .
Yoga builds strength and stability as well as increases your range of motion and agility . Training your shoulders , core and upper body , as well as developing greater coordination in complex movements , can make a difference in your stance and swing .
Understanding and accessing greater hip rotation will not only serve your game , it can also reduce inflammation or chance of injury .
Another interesting aspect of yoga is that it enhances your ability to focus . We all know the importance of keeping “ your head in the game ”. Yoga ’ s breath practices quiet the mind and offer the mental clarity needed especially when conditions are not ideal .
I came to yoga as a professional dancer and choreographer and found a practice that not only improved my performance techniques but also gave me a physical and mental foundation for health and longevity . The key is that we want to feel good and do what we love for as long as we are alive . Try yoga for 8 weeks and see what it does for you . You might just get hooked like I did !
My studio , Satya Life Yoga , has been serving the Lakeland community since 2004 . Welcome to our new South Lakeland location ! We are excited to partner with Eaglebrooke and offer yoga classes to you every day of the week . Try new to yoga , yoga basics , intermediate yoga , and core yoga to find the right fit for you .
