Happy Holidays from the Golf Maintenance Staff !
As we reflect on the year , we ’ re grateful to have navigated the challenges of hurricane season with minimal impact . While Florida faced some severe weather , our course sustained only minor tree damage and flooding . However , we continue to manage wet areas on holes 17 and 18 , particularly near the naturally occurring spring that feeds the lake surrounding holes 16 , 17 , and 18 . The water table is reportedly at its highest level in 80 years , but we anticipate improvement as drier conditions are forecasted for the winter months .
Course Updates December provides our maintenance team a chance to step back from the weekly mowing schedule and focus on other important tasks to enhance the course . Recently , we ’ ve been working on :
Bunker Improvements :
▪ Restoring the bunkers remains an ongoing priority . We ’ re systematically addressing them hole by hole to improve both appearance and playability . Moving forward , we ’ ll be using a coarser sand to promote better drainage , reduce firmness , and achieve a more consistent , fluffy texture throughout the course .
Cart Path Edging :
▪ This detail work is helping elevate the overall aesthetic of the course , giving it a polished , refined look .
These efforts , combined with our continued commitment to agronomic practices , aim to push Eaglebrooke to the next level in course conditioning .
Looking Ahead The progress we ’ ve made over the past year is a testament to the dedication of our team and the resilience of the course . With exciting projects on the horizon in 2025 , we remain focused on delivering the best possible playing conditions for our members .
Thank you for your support and encouragement throughout the year . We look forward to seeing you on the course and wish you all a wonderful holiday season !
