Mars by Josh Therian
With only a gray haze visible in the night sky Clouds move tirelessly together . Fingertips numb , breath hovering in air The sky finally begins to break apart White rays pierce the dark and the body becomes warmer Haze turns to recognizable shapes in the sky A familiar white sphere appears Then another , smaller , radiant and red , glowing unfamiliar alongside Mr . Moon An object most people only see in books A faraway planet , its ground rusty with iron Where seasons and weather change Volcanos erupt and canyons form So far out of reach , except with this scope At some point , earth will be that little blue dot For someone looking back at us
